Matthews Eyewear Eyecare is a market leader with fourteen optometry practices throughout NZ, 75 staff and with a central hub in Nelson. Reporting to the General Manager and being part of the management team, your overall objective is to build people capability, engagement and culture. You will be responsible for all things HR starting at the strategic level, building effective policies and processes, while getting involved in day-to-day operational activities. The role encompasses policy development, staff engagement, ER, recruitment and induction, training and development, H&S, remuneration and performance management, ensuring Matthews builds on their commitment to being a great place to work, and providing an exceptional customer experience.
Ideally you will have been in an HR management or an advisory role with an appropriate qualification, have extensive generalist experience across the key deliverables and a progressive approach. You will have a positive attitude, be an excellent communicator with strong time management and organisational skills and have a passion for being part of a customer focused organisation.
This exceptional role provides a great opportunity to create and develop a fresh, strong HR function with the size to roll out initiatives quickly and see the fruits of your input. The role is supported by a P/T HR Assistant and the hours are flexible and can be worked to fit around your needs.
