The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust is a non-profit, community-led organisation that now has the fully fenced predator free 700 hectare enclosure of mature native forest on Nelson City’s doorstep. It opened to the public this month and next steps will be to reintroduce rare native New Zealand wildlife such as kiwi, mohua and tuatara. The Trust has a committed and vibrant team.
This fixed term contract (with the potential for renewal) will have as its key activity engaging with the region’s business community for financial support. You will work closely with the Trust’s fundraising team to establish a business membership programme and work to secure business memberships and sponsorships, tracking opportunities and leads and creating programmes that encourage organisations to get and stay involved.
The hours and length of contract are negotiable with a focus on results.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in sales and /or fundraising. You will have or be able to quickly develop strong links in the region’s business community through having strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will have energy and enthusiasm and sound planning and organisational skills to support your activities.
