Fanselow Consulting principal, Judy Fanselow, MA (Hons), began her HR career in Auckland and in 1989 she established the first HR company in the Nelson/Marlborough region.
While Judy began as a sole practitioner operating from a home office, over the next twenty years the company expanded to include a business partner, fourteen staff and a purpose-built office.
Judy’s extensive experience in HR is now channeled into Fanselow Consulting. Judy is a member of Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ), the professional body for those involved in Human Resource Management and the development of people. She is also a member of AMINZ the professional body for mediators and arbitrators.
Judy has a Masters degree in Sociology and post graduate diplomas in Human Resources and Dispute Resolution. Judy has also undertaken training in psychometric assessment and coaching.
Community involvement
For fourteen years Judy served as a director of Nelson Airport. She also served on the Nelson College for Girls Board of Trustees for seven years, including three years as chair; and was part of Nelson’s local committee of the Institute of Directors.
And when she’s not working
Judy is a life-long learner and is currently undertaking post-graduate studies through Massey University.
When she was seven years old, Judy was captivated by the piano and she continues to take lessons, practice and play with enthusiasm – even if it means that from time to time her husband watches rugby to a background of Chopin or Liszt.
In her spare time Judy can be found walking, running and biking the local hills and paths with friends and family – including her husband and three daughters – or at their holiday home at the Nelson Lakes.
